Liwonde

Home to an exceptional diversity of birds as well as large mammals like Elephant, Black Rhino and Cheetah, Liwonde National Park is a hidden jewel. Located in the southern part of Malawi, it is 548 square kilometres of typical African savannah interspersed with woodlands and a large section of the majestic Shire River running through it.

The renowned Africa Parks organization took over the park’s management in 2015 and has done wonders for its conservation. A Liwonde Safari in Malawi is most certainly an elephant and bird watcher’s paradise.
